iWhere Oklahoma oil started early
The first oil well near Cleveland was spudded on May 27, 1904, and the workers who followed gave the town its nickname, Oklahoma’s Pioneer Oil City. Cleveland is in Pawnee County, beside Keystone Lake, with the Arkansas River and Osage County on the other side. It had 3,205 people in 2020, and US-64 runs past it.
iiA longer drive, a bigger job
Cleveland is about 28 miles from downtown Tulsa as the crow flies, so it’s the kind of trip that makes sense for a real job: a lot to clear, a fence line to run, a drive to gravel. Call ahead and we’ll set a day.
