iThe town that moved for the lake
Mannford took its name from a crossing on the Cimarron River. When the Army Corps of Engineers planned Keystone Lake, the original town sat where the water would go, so residents moved several miles southeast, finishing in 1963. Today the town sits on both sides of a southwest arm of the lake, in the old Salt Creek valley. It’s in Creek County and had 3,262 people in 2020.
iiLake land
Keystone Lake is a reservoir on the Arkansas and Cimarron rivers, and land around it tends to come with brush, trees and slopes. Clearing a lot, cutting a level spot, laying a gravel drive and hauling the debris away are jobs our skid steer, mini excavator and dump trailer were made for.
