iFrom Elm Creek to one of the fastest-growing towns around
Owasso was settled in 1881 as Elm Creek and took its name in 1900 from an Osage word for the end of the rail line. It sits in Tulsa and Rogers counties and grew 32.2 percent between 2010 and 2020, reaching 38,240 people. Highway 169 runs through it and has been widened, and many residents work in Tulsa.
iiWhat a growing town needs
Growth means new houses, and new houses mean bare yards, fences to put up, furniture to carry in and boxes to haul off. It also means the first generation of those newer houses now needs its first round of repairs.
