iRailroad, brick and glass

Sapulpa is named for James Sapulpa, who set up a trading post here around 1850. The Frisco railroad arrived in 1886 and made it an overhaul base, the Sapulpa Pressed Brick Company started in 1898, and the glass plants earned it the name “the Crystal City of the Southwest.” It won the Creek County seat in 1913 and had 21,929 people in 2020. I-44 runs to downtown Tulsa, and the Creek Turnpike starts at the northeast edge of town.

iiA town with some years on it

Sapulpa has been a town since the 1890s, so plenty of its houses have some age on them, and older houses are where doors stick, floors soften and porches weather.
